My brother takes pictures as my son gives the boat a try. One
thing that we found odd was the two guys who walked into the water to fish
as we were splashing around...
The paddle is spruce with mahogany accents.
This shows the boat at the 200+ lb load line.
Here is <100 lbs for comparison.
Flotation compartments being tested.
Launching was accompanied by my brother's 20lb aerolight.
At 36lbs, this boat is heavier, but stiffer. The boat
is built with 1/4" strips and 6oz cloth.
Oswego Lake - November 10, 2006
Oswego River - November 10, 2006
Things look pretty placid here, but we couldn't take pictures in the
swifter sections with debris. For those familiar with the river, the
gage height at Harrisville was 3.8ft.
Sunset on Harrisville Lake - November 10, 2006
It was a bit dark as we headed down the lake. If you look
carefully you can see the Rob Roy. It turns out that we also had to
look pretty carefully for the truck in the dark when we reached the end of
the lake.
